UPDATE:

Welcome to 2013.

I started the year on a very high note, directing a performance/fundraiser highlighting human rights activists from around the globe. It was held at the historic Cocoanut Grove Theatre, on the RFK Community Schools campus. The performance was entitled "Speak Truth to Power" by Ariel Dorfman, adapted from the same book by Kerry Kennedy (the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy). The performance consisted of students from my school, Los Angeles High School of the Arts and professional actors from film, television and stage. This included Martin Sheen, Paul Sorvino, Alfre Woodard, Catherine Keener, Matthew Morrison and Trevor Donovan. The students performed the piece in the afternoon to an all-student crowd, and the evening performance included all actors. Needless to say, it was a highlight of my budding directing career.

I celebrated my birthday by booking and shooting a national commercial. Because I signed a NDA, I cannot announce the product until it airs. This makes my second national commercial in five months, as my commercial for Florida Orange Juice continues to play in heavy rotation. Look for it!

Also look for my audiobook "Disciple" from Crosstown to Oblivion by Walter Mosley at your nearest bookstore.

Currently, I am an adjunct instructor with the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, teaching voice and speech. I am also teaching workshops in theatre arts, audition techniques and playwriting with elementary, middle and high school children. Upcoming projects include the August Wilson Residency Project, in which I teach the entire Century Cycle to students from Compton High and LA High School of Visual Arts, the Middle School Playwriting Project for eighth graders, as well as voice and diction for the Los Angeles High School for the Arts.

The rest is a mystery.
